Service Description

The initial consultation for students is aimed at gathering background information about the presenting difficulties. Thereafter, therapy appointments are usually scheduled for once a week. Psychotherapy for tertiary students focus on identifying personal strengths and weaknesses, areas of difficulty in daily functioning (such as friendships, academics, well-being etc) as well as developing healthy coping strategies. Psychometric assessments might form part of this process, such as personality profiles from the Myers-Brigss Type Indicator (MBTI) or the 16 Personality Factor questionnaire (16pf). Extra costs are involved for psychometric assessments. Appointments can be face-to-face or online.
