Assessments &

Assessment of skills, abilities, aptitude and daily functioning can be very helpful to individuals or families to deepen their understanding of their unique strengths and weaknesses. Assessments can also aid in diagnosing various conditions to assist the individual or family in optimising their functioning, whether it be at school, university/college, work, in relationships, or in the family.

I offer the following assessment and diagnostic services:

  • Scholastic assessments to determine barriers to learning (ADHD, anxiety, depression, reading difficulties, writing difficulties, mathematical difficulties)

  • Griffiths III developmental assessment of young children under the age of 6 to determine areas of developmental delay

  • DISCO (Diagnostic Interview for Social Communication Disorders) to diagnose Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

  • Subject choice assessment for Grade 9 learners

  • Career guidance for Grade 10-12 learners and tertiary students wanting to change their field of study

  • Concession assessments for tertiary students wanting to apply for assistance during tests and examinations

  • Personal development assessments for students and adults to gain deeper insight into themselves to optimise their functioning. I use the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), the Strong Interest Inventory and the 16 Personality Factor Questionnaire (16PF)

  • Medico-legal assessments of children and adolescents to determine neuropsychological and scholastic functioning following head injuries
